The Anglesea Tavern, Anglesea Street, Ryde. Opened in 1845 by William Tarver, he brewed beer from a little brewery at the rear of the premises which was then known as "upper" or "little" Cross Street, Edward Sweetman then took it over and was recorded there in 1906. The pub eventually became a Brickwoods house until taken over by Whitbreads and eventual closure around 2000.

Kev Mitchell reports:

The Anglesea Tavern, Anglesea Street, Ryde. Opened in 1845 by William Tarver, he brewed beer from a little brewery at the rear of the premises which was then known as "Upper" or "Little" Cross Street. Tarver recorded as an Ale & Porter brewer in an 1859 Directory.
