Henry Charles & Walter Sweetman, George Street Brewery, Ryde, Isle of Wight
Founded 1848. Edward Sweetman recorded as a brewer here in 1865.
In 1855 Edward Sweetman was recorded as a brewer and wine & spirit merchant at the Turks Head, 5 Colonnade, Lind Street.
Edward Sweetman was also at Anglesea Brewery (Ryde), and he took over Louisa Lake (Eagle Brewery). Later, Edward's son Henry took over.
Acquired by Mew, Langton & Co. Ltd in 1920, and demolished in 1935 to make way for the new Commodore Cinema. It marked the end of breweries in the town.
