Smith & Co (Oundle) Ltd, North Street, Oundle, Northamptonshire

John Smith, a farmer from Stoke Doyle, founded the North Street Brewery in 1775.

The company was incorporated as above on 23 December 1935. At the time, they also had maltings and 85 licensed houses mainly in Northamptonshire.

Malting ceased in 1947. Acquired by Warwicks & Richardsons Ltd with 83 houses in 1955. In 1962, Warwicks merged with John Smith's Tadcaster Brewery Co. Ltd, and brewing was transferred from Oundle to the Newark brewery. The last brew at Oundle was on 11 September 1962.

The site was developed for housing in the mid-1980s.
