The Wiffin and Brown partnership were listed in 1874, selling out to Samuel Smith Rogers three years later. Samuel Smith Rogers and Company, Stanstead Brewery were trading to 1886.

The last year of operation was c.1926, when Randall, Gibbons, Ingold & Co. of Dunmow took over the company.

The site was later used as a malthouse served by a private railway siding, a further long siding on an incline served a large commercial nursery at the top of a hill, known as "Rochfords".

The entire premises were demolished in the late 1980s and a business park erected, built on similar lines to the old buildings.
