The Wellington was owned by Smith & Co. (Sheffield) Ltd. See also List of A H Smith & Co. Ltd. pubs.
Under the later ownership of Tennant Brothers Ltd, the premises were refurbished in about 1940 in art deco style, and much of this interior survives today. The pub is on Camra's Inventory of historic pub interiors. See:
