Under the later ownership of Tennant Brothers Ltd, the premises were refurbished in about 1940 in art deco style, and much of this interior survives today. The pub is on CAMRA's Inventory of historic pub interiors. See: http://pubheritage.camra.org.uk.
For some years, a microbrewery was established at the pub: Port Mahon Brewery, then Little Ale Cart Brewing, but the brewery was moved elsewhere in 2013.
