Thornbridge was founded in 2005 by Jim Harrison. Jim had been a home brewer and made his fortune making engine gaskets in Barnsley. He bought Thornbridge Hall and started brewing again
He eyed up the old stone mason's workshop on the estate.
He installed the brew plant from Marston Moor in Yorkshire with six 30hL fermenters
Ventilation while brewing
The brewery office is an old 'tin tabernacle'. These are cheap temporary structures erected by congregations before they could afford a more permanent edifice.
