Sykes, Porter & Co, Myrtle Brewery, 16-18 Holly Street, Liverpool, Merseyside
James Porter was a partner in the brewery. In about 1879, he purchased Bryan Brothers, Dale Brewery in Burton upon Trent, and then Thomas Robinson's Union Street Brewery in Burton.
The Union Street and Myrtle Breweries were merged with 109 tied houses in 1896 to form Robinson's Brewery Co Ltd.
The Myrtle brewery closed in 1930 following takeover of Robinsons by Ind Coope.
