Founded in 1847 as a wine and spirit business in Priory Street. Acquired the Peacock Hotel and Brewery, Upper High Street, Dudley in September 1895. Registered as a company in October 1897, and their new brewery was built during that year. Julia's sons re-registered the company as '''Julia Hanson & Sons Ltd''' in 1902.


Acquired by [[Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries Ltd]]. 1943 with nearly 200 houses.
* In 1919, they acquired the brewery and tied estate of [[Miners Arms (Kidderminster)]].
* In 1934, they acquired [[Smith & Williams]] of Round Oak with about 60 houses, including the [[Stewponey & Foley Arms]] Hotel.
* In 1938, they acquired the [[Samuel Woodhall Ltd]] brewery of West Bromwich.

Julia Hanson & Sons Ltd, 89 High Street, Dudley, West Midlands.

Founded in 1847 as a wine and spirit business in Priory Street. Acquired the Peacock Hotel and Brewery, Upper High Street, Dudley in September 1895. Registered as a company in October 1897, and their new brewery was built during that year. Julia's sons re-registered the company as Julia Hanson & Sons Ltd in 1902.

Acquired by Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries Ltd in 1943 with nearly 200 houses. The brewery's Bitter was then brewed in Wolverhampton, but Hanson's Mild continued to be brewed in Dudley.
