Smith & Williams, Town Brewery, Round Oak, Brierley Hill, West Midlands.

Founded by William Henry Simpkiss (father of JP Simpkiss) by expanding the existing Royal Oak Inn Brewery in 1869.

Sold to North Worcestershire Breweries Ltd in 1896 whose new brewery in Stourbridge had burnt down. Twelve months later bought and re-opened as Elwell Williams & Co, Brewers and Wholesale Bottlers, a partnership of five people, Isaac Trevor Elwell (son of George and grandson of Benjamin), Harry French Williams. John Benton. William Henry Smith and Frederick Hipkiss.

Partnership not dissolved as the partners retired or died but the last two, Smith & Williams, sold to Julia Hanson & Sons Ltd in 1934 with 60 tied houses.
