Founded 1770.  
Founded before 1770 by the Reeve family.  


The [[Colchester Brewing Co. Ltd]]. had an option to purchase the 18-quarter brewery in 1888 with 61 freehold and 12 leasehold houses.  
In February 1884 Croft & Flick partnership dissolved here and elsewhere and in 1886 Harwood’s Halesworth Brewery moved to Eye.  


Brewing continued until 1925 when [[Ind Coope Ltd]] took over.
Then from 1888 to 1925 held by the [[Colchester Brewing Co. Ltd]], but damaged by fire in 1921.
