Greenall Whitley & Co. Ltd, Wilderspool Brewery, Wilderspool Causeway, Warrington, Cheshire

Founded 1762 at St Helens. The St Helens brewery was closed in April 1975. See Greenall Whitley (St Helens).

The Warrington (Wilderspool) brewery was established in 1787. See Greenall Whitley (Wilderspool).

Private company registered in October 1880 and public company formed 1952.

In 1990, it closed its remaining breweries at Warrington and Nottingham to become a pub chain, which was later itself bought. As a Pub Co, it acquired the pub estate of Devenish & Co. Ltd in 1993.
