In July 2024, the BBC reported:
"Pub giant Marstons has left the brewing industry after agreeing to sell its 40% stake in a brewing company for £206m. The firm announced on Monday [6 July 2024] that it sold its stake in Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC), a joint venture valued at £780m, to Carlsberg. It ends almost 200 years of brewing heritage, which began with Banks and Company at the Park Brewery in Wolverhampton in 1875."

From the company's website: "In November 2020, Carlsberg UK and Marstons completed their merger to create a new beer company whose brands include Carlsberg, Carlsberg Export, Poretti, Hobgoblin, Marston's Pedigree, Tetley's, Wainwright and 61 Deep. The portfolio of Carlsberg Marston's Brewing will also include a number of brands brewed under licence in the UK including San Miguel, Mahou, Estrella Damm, Shipyard, Erdinger, Warsteiner and Kirin. It will also distribute craft beers from Brooklyn in the US and London Fields in the UK."
