Founded 1879 at South Street. Buchanan acquired the Hanover Square brewery from Robert Fletcher's exors in 1883. Sold 15 houses in 1927 and leased the brewery to the [[Northern Clubs Federation Brewery Ltd]]. who then exercised an option to purchase in 1929.
