Northern Clubs Federation Brewery Ltd, Hanover Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear.

Founded at Alnwick 1919 when George Stott Smart's former brewery was acquired but this was found not to be in working order so brewing was transferred to Hedley Street, Newcastle where brewing began in March 1921. Name changed to above in 1926. Short lease on John Buchanan's Hanover Square Brewery taken in 1927. Moved to the Hanover Street Brewery 1931.

In 1980. they moved to a new brewery at Dunston.


Northern Clubs Federation Brewery Ltd, Federation Brewery, Lancaster Road, Dunston, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.

Brewery opened 1980 following move from central Newcastle.

In 2004 bought by Scottish & Newcastle who had announced the closure of their Newcastle brewery. They traded as Newcastle Federation Breweries until closed in 2010 by Heineken. The site was then cleared.
