Silas Barker, Bluecoat Brewery, 25 New Road, Ware, Hertfordshire
Brewery erected 1875.
Acquired by Christie & Lucas, the wine and spirit side of Christie & Co. Ltd of Hoddesdon, in 1929. Brewing continued for a few months. Silas Barker carried on as a beer retailer until about 1933. In 1936 the Ware Brewery Co. operated here for a year. It was owned by Herbert Lynn and was registered as the Ware Brewery Co. Ltd. on 25th November 1946.
