In 1900, Nathaniel Sadler established the original Windsor Castle Brewery in Oldbury. Brewing ceased here in 1927.

In 2004, John Alexander commenced brewing Sadler's ales once again at the Windsor Castle Public House in Lye. In 2013 formed a joint venture with Craddocks. An enlarged brewery was opened nearby in 2015: Sadlers Ales.

In November 2019, following the demise of Sadlers, brewing recommenced at the Windsor Castle as Printworks Brewery.
