Brewing ceased 1928 and the brewery was sold to a cinema company for the construction of the New Victoria cinema. From this time, Whitakers bought all their draught beer from Tetleys. Their pubs began to display the Tetley Huntsman signs, but they did not carry the slogan "One of Tetley's Houses". They moved their business headquarters to their stables and garages at Park Road, Bradford. From there they continued as hotel proprietors, bottlers, dealers in beer, wines, spirits and tobacco.
