Brewery and 7 public houses sold for £900 on 24th July 1907.


Steve Williams writes:-

There was a brewery in Church St. until 1907 when it was sold with seven licensed houses for £900. The business was run by George Stapleton in the 1870s. In an advertisement of 1878 various pieces of equipment were being sold off, including: 5 stone squares, a 6 quarter mash tub with false bottom, a malt mill, 4 wooden vats of various sizes and a collection of wooden spouts and lead piping.
