Daniel Thwaites & Co. Ltd, Star Brewery, Blackburn, Lancashire.

Still independent.

Acquired by Daniel Thwaites 1807.

Registered in March 1897. The Star Brewery was known as the Eanam Brewery until c.1948. A new brewhouse was built in 1966.

Some of the brewery's major brewing assets, including Wainwrights, were sold to Marstons in 2015, but a 20-barrel plant was retained in Blackburn for smaller-run beers.

Thwaites are planning to move to a new site at Mellor Brook in Spring 2018. This will include a heritage centre and a new £8m brewery.
