W N Mason & Co, South End Brewery, Alford, Lincolnshire

Established before 1830, in 1842 William Morton & Son. Later Morton and Mason. William Morton listed in the census in Alford from 1841 to 1871, at which time he was described as "Wine merchant, maltster and brewer employing 6 men".

In 1896 taken by Reuben Cartwright with Housman Johnson as his manager. Cartwright had previously been at the Firsby Brewery, but was now an agent for Hole & Co. Ltd of Newark, and brewing probably ceased. Business of agents and wine spirit merchant continued by Johnson until 1923.
