Simson & McPherson Ltd, St.Mary's Brewery, Canongate, Edinburgh , Lothian .

Founded by James Simson at Melrose 1839. St.Mary's Brewery opened 1864.

Registered February 1896 to acquire James Simson & Sons and John Ewen McPherson & Co, Sandyford Brewery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with 26 tied houses.

Acquired by Robert Deuchar Ltd. 1900 and brewing ceased at Edinburgh in 1901 and at Melrose in 1906.
