The brewery features in The Noted Breweries of Great Britain and Ireland by Alfred Barnard published 1890

Potter & Cockburn, Shropshire Brewery, Wellington, Shropshire.

Brewery built 1851. Offered for auction March 1912 but was withdrawn at £20,000.

24 tied houses sold to W.Butler & Co. Ltd. of Wolverhampton in the same year.
