Owned by James Cunliffe and operated by Seed until registered as the Spring Lane Brewery Co. Ltd April 1882.

Registered as above March 1896 with Seed as a director.

William Seed died in 1928 and was described as a survivor of the 3 founders.

Acquired by Dutton's Blackburn Brewery Ltd. in 1938 with 60 houses and brewing ceased.
