Please note the following research by Trevor Unwin regarding these two brewers:

Partney brewery:

According to Kelly’s Directory for 1868 William Thompson was a brewer & farmer in Partney Lane, Partney. Cornelius Goodwin was the miller at Partney Mill and Everett English was running the White Hart.

Kelly’s for 1885 lists William Thurlby as a brewer & maltster at Partney Lane, presumably having succeeded William Thompson at some point. John William Goodwin was at Partney Mill and William Tasker was the licensee of the White Hart.

In 1889 Harry Goodwin is listed as brewer & maltster and William Thurlby was still at the White Hart.

Kelly’s 1896 has the situation unchanged except that John Johnson was at the White Hart.

Kelly’s 1905 makes no mention of a brewer (consistent with a take-over in 1898) and Harry Goodwin is now at Partney Mill (as a miller). The pub is now in the hands of John Widdowson.

There is no evidence to link the brewery and the White Hart. It is never referred to as the White Hart brewery in the directories and the pub and brewery are run by entirely different personnel.

The absence of the White Hart from the list is entirely explicable if it was never part of the operation in the first place.
