Acquired by [[Luker & Co. Ltd]] 1884. Closed 1917 due to wartime restrictions.
Established 1785 with William Cross shown in 1869.
 
Woolston & Croft listed 1870. John Woolston and George Croft partnership then dissolved. Croft went on to purchase the Halesworth Brewery with RW Flick. The latter later became a key player at the [[Hook Norton Brewery Co. Ltd]] and possibly Leamington Spa. In June 1884 the executors of the late John Woolston sold the brewery to Henry [[Luker & Co. Ltd]] of Southend.  
 
The Rayleigh brewery closed in March 1917 due to wartime licensing restrictions.
 
Watneys had a depot at Rayleigh until 1986.

Established 1785 with William Cross shown in 1869.

Woolston & Croft listed 1870. John Woolston and George Croft partnership then dissolved. Croft went on to purchase the Halesworth Brewery with RW Flick. The latter later became a key player at the Hook Norton Brewery Co. Ltd and possibly Leamington Spa. In June 1884 the executors of the late John Woolston sold the brewery to Henry Luker & Co.
