James & Thomas Shaw, Steam Engine, Coalville, Leicestershire.

The pub dates back to at least 1813 when run by Joseph Hough, with the address shown as Donisthorpe. By 1846 James Shaw was a farmer at the Engine, which was shown as the Steam Engine in 1855.

In 1870-75 James was at the Engine Inn, whilst Thomas was shown as a beer retailer in Donington. In 1877 they were listed as brewers at the Steam Engine, but also shown under Hugglecote.

By 1884 Thomas Brooks was listed at what was described only as a beerhouse, and in 1884 to 1894, James Shaw was a grocer and beer retailer at Hugglescote.
