Operated by Robert Clifton Armstrong from at least 1861 until 1887 as the Phoenix Brewery Co.

For sale with 12 houses 1891.

Merged with Atkinson Harrup of Kirkstead 1914. The merged business was registered as above in 1916.

Bankrupt 1932 then acquired by Bateman & Son Ltd June 1933.
