Hook Norton Brewery Co. Ltd, Brewery Lane, Hook Norton, Oxfordshire.
John Henry Harris arrived in Hook Norton in late 1846 and set up as a maltster. He advertised as a common brewer in 1852, the same year he acquired the site. In 1880 Harris engaged Arthur Kinder to carry out alterations to raise the roof line of an existing building to three storeys.
In about 1898, the current tower brewhouse was constructed to the designs of William Bradford. Registered in July 1900.
In 1951 the Gilchrist family of Burtonwood Brewery Co.(Forshaws) Ltd acquired a substantial shareholding.
Still independent. Housed in the original maltings of the Victorian tower brewery, is a visitor centre, with museum, shop, bar and restaurant, open daily.
