Founded by John Henry Harris c.1849. Brewery built 1872.  
John Henry Harris arrived in Hook Norton in late 1846 and set up as a maltster. He advertised as a common brewer in 1852, the same year he acquired the site.  


Registered July 1900 to acquire J.Harris & Co.  
In 1880 Harris engaged Arthur Kinder to carry out alterations to raise the roof line of an existing building to three storeys.

In 1951 the Gilchrist family of [[Burtonwood Brewery Co.(Forshaws) Ltd]] acquired a substantial shareholding.

Hook Norton Brewery Co. Ltd, Brewery Lane, Hook Norton, Oxfordshire.

John Henry Harris arrived in Hook Norton in late 1846 and set up as a maltster. He advertised as a common brewer in 1852, the same year he acquired the site.
