A large carved stone panel with 'HOLTE ... 1897 ... HOTEL'. Sitting above a central shield is a squirrel cracking a nut. We had thought that this was Holt Brewery's trade mark, but it turns out to be part of the historic coat of arms of the Holte family who formerly owned the land. The pub was owned by [[Flower & Sons Ltd]] of Stratford-upon-Avon, later M&B.

Holte Hotel, Witton Lane / Trinity Road, Aston, Birmingham, West Midlands B6 6HE


A large carved stone panel with 'HOLTE ... 1897 ... HOTEL'. Sitting above a central shield is a squirrel cracking a nut. We had thought that this was Holt Brewery's trade mark, but it turns out to be part of the historic coat of arms of the Holte family who formerly owned the land. The pub was owned by Flower & Sons Ltd of Stratford-upon-Avon, later M&B.
