Hall's Oxford Brewery Ltd: 'Hare' Plaques
Halls 'Hare' plaques
Hall's Oxford Brewery was taken over by Allsopp & Sons Ltd in the 1920s, and brewing ceased.
The Hall's brand - as Hall's Oxford & West Brewery Company Limited - was retained for many years afterwards. Under the management of Ind Coope, the company was restructured in 1980. Many of their houses featured four wall-mounted tiles with the 'Hare' trade mark, and most of these date from this period. A large number of these plaques survive.
Many thanks to Richard Queralt for information.
