Gale & Kennington, Humber Brewery, Chantry Lane/Bull Ring, Grimsby, Lincolnshire.

Robert Gale was a brewer in 1871, living in Bull Ring. He was born in 1833 at Hull, his wife, Annie, was born in 1844 in Grimsby. The family lived successively in Garton and Hornsea, both in East Yorkshire, before moving to Grimsby early in 1871.

A 45 quarters maltings was built to the designs of William Hawe in 1878/79 for Gale & Kennington.

Gale & Kennington were brewers at the Bull Ring by 1889.

Acquired by Hewitt Brothers Ltd. 1891 with at least 5 houses. Was used as a depot until 1950s.
