Founded 1840 with John Rose recorded here in 1845.

Partnership of C.W.W.Roberts and J. Pearson dissolved 1907 and was acquired byMcMullen & Sons Ltd. of Hertford in the same year. U

sed as stores until at least 1937. A few small buildings remain.
