Dublin Brewery Company, 141 North King Street, Smithfield, Dublin, Ireland.

Brewing commenced 1996. Ceased by 2005.

Owned by Kieran Finnerty and operating from an ex soap factory near Smithfield Market in the heart of Dublin. Becketts is named after the Irish Nobel prize winning playwright Samuel Beckett. The brewer is Liam McKenna, a recruit from Canada, uses a 65 barrel plant installed by Brendan Dobbin & Dobbin Contracts of Manchester, with brewing commencing on December 1st 1996.

The market is famous for the monthly horse fairs and following a long standing tradition all the Dublin Brewing Co spent grain is donated as horse feed. A bottling plant is planned for later in 1997 which will oncrease the workforce from the current six to around thirty.

Current output is 65 barrels a week, but potential is 195 barrels a week. The beers are available in a large number of free trade pubs, bars and cafes in Dublin.
