In 1931, it merged with [[F. W. Soames & Co. Ltd]] and [[Island Green Brewery Co. Ltd]] (both of Wrexham) to create [[Border Brewery Ltd]]. The Dorsett Owen brewery was then demolished in 1933 and replaced with a cinema.
