Founded 1792.

Registered 1888.

Suspended operations and closed 1950 but was reopened 1954 by Guinness as Cherry's Brewery.

From the Brewery History society Journal number 91

Founded by Mr Strangman in 1792. Became a limited company in 1888. Brewers of ale and porter trading locally, with export markets in England, Wales and Newfoundland. The brewery closed down in 1948 and remained in mothballs until it was reopened by Guinness for the founding of the Cherry Cairnes Group in 1954.
