Carlisle Old Brewery (Sir Richard Hodgson & Co. Ltd), Bridge Street, Carlisle, Cumbria.

Founded in 1756. Used as the State Management brewery until 1973 and was bought by Theakston Ltd in 1974. Theakstons were then acquired by Matthew Brown of Blackburn.

Closed by Matthew Brown in Spring 1987; brewing was transferred to Workington. The brewery was converted to student accommodation. The buildings are listed, grade 2; here is a link to the official list record: [[1]].
