Brunswick Brewery, Gedney Road, Long Sutton, Lincolnshire

Norman Barber writes:

John Dolton was a brewer and maltster here from the 1820s. By 1856 Richard Blundy was in occupation, and by 1872, Spencer Ashlin Skelton and his younger brother William had taken over. The Skeltons gave up the brewery after 1882 because, according to surviving relatives, they had problems with the salinity of the water supply. F G Potter and then W H Johnson occupied the premises until they were let in 1887 to G W Mills of the Union Brewery in Wisbech. In 1890 the premises and plant were offered for sale, but no bidders were received.

Parts of the brewery were still standing in Gedney Road in the 1970s, occupied by a firm of seed and potato merchants.
