* In the autumn of 1982 development of the site of the old brewery uncovered the brewery well which was found to have most of the original pumping and hoisting machinery still intact. Breeds & Co. Ltd, Hastings Brewery, 33 High Street, Hastings, East Sussex.

Founded c.1802. Registered October 1897 to acquire Thomas Breeds & Co. The Breeds family were also associated with the nearby Burfield & Co brewery.

Acquired by George Beer & Rigden & Co Ltd. 1931 with about 32 public houses and brewing ceased.
