The original Northgate Brewery - on the south side of Northgate Street - is said to have been founded in 1768. The present site is thought to date from 1837 and in 1875 was bought by Henry Alfred Wadworth, who built a new brewery there in 1885.
Registered in 1889 and still operating independently.
In 2020, they announced their intention to move the brewing operation to a new site in Devizes.
