Schofield's Portland Brewery (Ashton-under-Lyne) Ltd, Bentinck Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.
Business founded by Thomas Schofield c.1824, brewing at the rear of the Friendship Inn.
New brewery erected 1865 on the corner of Brook Street and back of Portland Street.
In 1887, moved to the re-built premises of Egret Spinning Mills. Registered 1915.
Acquired by Frederic Robinsons Ltd. February 1925 with 42 public houses.
Brewery sold 1927.
