Ernest Whicher & Co, Star Brewery, 1 Queen Street, Portsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Founded 1891 by James Shaft, passed to Whicher 1897 and closed in that year when Whicher bought the Cosham Steam Brewery from Portsmouth United Breweries Ltd. In 1906 merged with Charles Gillett (Hampshire) of the Buckland Brewery.
In 1910 bought the Kingston Brewery from George Peters & Co. Ltd and ceased brewing in 1914.
