Founded 1827. Owned by James Cunliffe and operated by Seed until registered as the Spring Lane Brewery Co. Ltd April 1882. Registered as above March 1896 with Seed as a director. William Seed died in 1928 and was described as a survivor of the 3 founders. Acquired by [[Dutton's Blackburn Brewery Ltd]]. 1938 and brewing ceased.
