Crocombe & Son, Parracombe, Devon.
Originally maltsters.
Brewery built c.1870 at rear of Fox & Goose.
Brewing ceased 1940 due to the death of Mr Crocombe senior. 16 public houses.
Dr Malvern Tipping writes:-
The last owner of the brewery, Florence Crocombe (Florrie) nee Crang, closed it shortly after the death of her husband, Frederick, and then sold off the property in 1941 whilst her son was away at war.
My maternal grandmother's family were tenant farmers in and around Parracombe for four centuries. Her father was first cousin to Florrie. File:Parracombe Fox & Goose pos F3869.jpg File:Crocombe artefacts1.jpg
