Crocombe & Son, Tarr Path (Slippers Lane), Parracombe, Devon.

Originally maltsters.

Brewery built 1876 at rear of Royal Hotel (London Inn), which has now become a private house. The Fox & Goose remains in operation.

Brewing ceased 1940 due to the death of Mr Crocombe senior.

Dr Malvern Tipping writes:-

The last owner of the brewery, Florence Crocombe (Florrie) nee Crang, closed it shortly after the death of her husband, Frederick, and then sold off the property in 1941 whilst her son was away at war.

My maternal grandmother's family were tenant farmers in and around Parracombe for four centuries. Her father was first cousin to Florrie.
