George Street Maltings, Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire

There were at least three maltings on George Street.

In 1874, 200- and 75-quarter maltings operated by Thorpe & Sons. Closed in the 1960s when operated by Gilstrap Earp.

Malting on the north side of the road has mainly been converted to housing. The surviving kiln on the south side became occupied by an antique dealer with new houses on the site of the malting floors.

On the south side there was a 12-quarter malting occupied by J Manual; the eastern end with the kiln has been demolished to make way for a car park.

A microbrewery Westcrown Brewery was established here in 1977.
