James Paine Brewery Ltd, John Bull Brewery, Market Square, St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

Founded 1831 when James Paine acquired the brewery site. Registered as Paine & Co. Ltd. July 1896. Destroyed by fire 19th October 1905 but rebuilt following year.

Acquired by a group of travel agents 1982 and renamed as above.

The brewery and about 24 tied houses were acquired by Tollemache Breweries Ltd in 1987 and brewing ceased.

The grade 2 listed brewery buildings were converted into riverside apartments, with the Market Square facade retained. Here is a link to the Historic England List page: [1].
