Brewing started here in Spring 2015, following the relocation of the [[East Stratton Brewery]].
Established in early 2015 by landlord Jon Coward. John used to run a pub in Hampshire where he brewed as [[East Stratton Brewery]]. Jon and Millie took over the Bear and by April 2015 had recommenced brewing, with beers commercially available in May. A larger 700 litre plant, nearly 4 barrel plant, was installed later in 2015.


Brewing was suspended in Autumn 2023. In July 2024 Jon recruited Tom Davies from Exmoor Ales and brewing recommenced.
