Sunday 11 May 2025 - 1100am Historic London - Southwark Walk. The walk will concluded at the Southwark Brewing Company around mid-afternoon with a look behind the scenes at their brewing operation.

The outline timetable for the day was:

0945-1000 Arrive at Brewers Hall

1000-1030 Refreshments

1030-1200 Talks by Hannah Dunmow, Archivist to the Brewers’ Company, on its origins along with opportunity to view some of the important brewing artifacts held at Brewers Hall. and Caroline Metcalfe, editor of the William Porland Minute Book 1418-25, wo gave a talk on Porland’s work. Porland was Clerk to the Brewers’ Company for over twenty years during the fifteenth century and his minute book sheds light on the craft and fraternity of the Brewers of London. Arrangements were made for us to view the original Porland Volume which was brought over from the Guildhall Library, plus the Brewers Company founding charter.

1200-1315 BHS AGM 2025

1315-1400 Travel to The Royal Oak, 44 Tabard Street, London SE1 4JU for lunch.
